Irritation, thy name is SNOW.

It has been snowing all day here. I didn’t realize it was going to get this heinous this fast and didn’t get the hoses and sprinklers in. I hope they aren’t broken.

Also, K is getting bullied at school and I am really stressed trying to figure out how to deal with it. I don’t want to be the parent who calls the Whaaambulance every time her kid gets shoved, but on the other hand, I don’t want my kid to be bullied the way I was all through school.

My hair, let me show you it part deux.

Now is the time on Sprockets when we dance:

Unfortunately, I vastly overestimated my ability to camoflage and perform a shag hair cut on a squirmy four year old. Also, a dressmakers shears is NOT the proper implement for cutting a large swath of hair. We now own a barber’s shears. And a comb.

Look, mom, I’m METAL!

Also, happy International House of Cephalopods Awareness Day!

My hair, let me show you it.

Once upon a time, there was a little girl with long blonde hair:

And then there wasn’t:

The End.

A Time Waster worth wasting time on.

Build a Squid!

Mine is a Chartreuse and Pink-spotted squid named SquidWidget. Shocking, I know.

Also, mark your calendars for…

It was bound to happen eventually…

K proved today that she is indeed her mother’s daughter and took a scissors to her hair. She has a bob on the sides, long in back, and several spiky chunks on top. I can’t bear to take a photo – yet. Just not yet.  I will, soon, and then I will attempt to repair the damage. I don’t hold out much hope that the length in back will remain. I just hope that she leaves E’s hair alone. Because I would cry even harder if those little ringlets disappeared.

Flu Shot 1, Squid Family 0.

Wow. The shot didn’t really hurt when we got it, but now we just want to curl up and sleep. I am glad we got it done though.

What a birthday present for Mister Squid. Oh well. We were going to order windows, too, but the quote is STILL not complete. Apparently a lot of people are ordering windows, as we are planning to, to squeak under the wire with the tax rebate thing. Crossing fingers that the quote will be ready Monday.
